For years, Kit Carson's M16® designs have been our most popular series. And our Z version has built the largest user base of all.

The M16-12Z uses our very successful InterFrame construction, tough, textured glass filled nylon scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame. We overbuild it for rigidity, using solid glass filled nylon back spacers. And we assemble the handle with superior offset Torx® fasteners. The handle is exceptionally rigid and fills the hand perfectly.

M16-14D Desert Big Dog has an aluminum frame M16 in desert camo. The contoured handles of 6061 T6 aluminum are hard anodized Desert Tan. The 3.875" (98 mm) AUS 8 stainless steel blade, chosen for edge retention and durability, receives a highly corrosion-resistant Desert Tan non-reflective titanium nitride coating. It has a Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge to cut through nets, webbing and vegetation quickly.

It also features our exclusive patented AutoLAWKS, the Lake and Walker Knife Safety innovation taken to the next level. AutoLAWKS™ automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the AutoLAWKS™ red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position..

One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of precision tolerances and lubrous washers at the blade pivot. The dual ambidextrous thumb studs with checkered surfaces provide instant access in any circumstance. Please note: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry.

We have produced Kit Carson's popular M16® line in many variations over the past decade. Our glass filled nylon version has built the largest user base of all. These knives are built for function, not fad, and they are exceptional values.

Our new M16 ZLEK line uses our very successful InterFrame construction, with tough, textured glass filled nylon scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame and solid glass filled nylon back spacers. We assemble the handle with superior offset Torx® fasteners.

For professional use, we've added a seat belt cutter to the Carson Flipper, and a tungsten carbide window breaker at the butt. Automobile side windows shatter with one quick whack from the butt of the knife. All components receive a tough tactical black coating. The Flipper can be pressed for fast one-hand opening, and creates a blade guard when open.

We use our premium AUS 8 high-carbon stainless steel for the blades, which have Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges to easily cut rope, cord, canvas, and vegetation.

To close the knife, pull the AutoLAWKS™ red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position. M16®-14ZLEK. The "Big Dog" M16 is a hefty 6.2-ounce knife with a 3.75"- long Tanto blade that is able to tackle any emergency task. This larger model features a four-position clip, allowing carry on belts or webbing— tip up, tip down, left or right.

It began like a Christmas wish list. What if we could build Kit Carson's M21™ series just the way a custom knifemaker would: with a G10 and stainless steel InterFrame build and a titanium nitride-coated premium stainless steel blade? What if we could bring it in at a very competitive value price? Just like a kid on Christmas morning, we got everything we wanted. And so can you. The smaller size M21-02G and M21-12G models make excellent every day carries. They're available in your choice of Razor-Sharp or our exclusive Combined Razor-Sharp and patented (1) Veff™ Serrated edge grinds.

The swedged and recurved spear point blades are made of premium 8Cr14MoV stainless steel with a non-reflective black titanium nitride finish which gives maximum corrosion resistance. There are many reasons custom knifemakers choose an InterFrame build with stainless steel liners and G10 scales in preference to aluminum or even titanium scales. First, the aggressive G10 texture gives unparalleled grip. Second, it is very strong. Third, it is lightweight. And finally, G10 is an insulator with a low specific heat. Therefore, it is cooler to grip in the beating desert sun, and warmer to grip at subfreezing temperatures.

These M21 models also feature the very popular "Carson Flipper" blade extension, which aids opening and acts as an additional blade guard. Unlike the typical custom knifemaker, we are able to engineer our patented (2) AutoLAWKS™ automatic knife safety into all M21 models. AutoLAWKS™, the Lake and Walker Knife Safety innovation taken to the next level. AutoLAWKS™ automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the AutoLAWKS™ red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position. As is standard practice on CRKT folders, lubrous washers at the blade pivot assure velvety-smooth one-hand opening and closing, using Kit Carson's trademark dual checkered thumb studs which also act as a blade stop. Every model features a removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip. All fasteners, including the clip screws, are Torx®. Liners, hardware and clip are black oxide coated.

So there you have the M21 G10 series. We call it a "premium value line." Everything you could ask for in a custom-quality work knife at a great price. Does that make us feel jolly?
